BEING INVOLVED - A SOLID FOUNDATION

Returning home, he took a job teaching at Capital High and remained there for more than 10 years. For the last seven years he has worked as the communications director for Forward Think, a nonprofit dedicated to helping young adults succeed in education and business.

Jerrett V. Lamb was born in 1968 in San Angelo, Texas.  As an eighth generation native Texan, Jerrett was enthralled in the beauty and majesty of the State of Texas from an early age.  After graduating High School in Midland, Texas in 1986, Jerrett obtained his BA Degree (Real Estate Specialization) from Texas Tech University in 1990.  Immediately following graduation from Texas Tech, he made his way to the Hawaiian Islands where he worked with CORDCO Real Estate, leasing commercial warehouse space to International industries/shipping companies.

In an effort to get back to his ‘roots’, Jerrett departed the islands in 1991 and moved to Houston, Texas where he was employed by Guardian Savings & Loan as a National Multi-family Audit Director.  As Director, Jerrett was saddled with the multitude of tasks related to the apartment development and disposition industry.  Traveling the country, he was in charge of site selection, construction overview, pre-leasing, lease auditing and disposition coordination.  While serving in this position, Jerrett was mentored by some great minds in the finance industry and began structuring mortgage backed securities for the multi-family industry.  Upon departing the Guardian Savings group, he and two partners began CECO Realty Advisors, where Jerrett was the Principal Broker of Record and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities implementer.

During 1993, Jerrett was approached to assist in the appraisal of Right-of-Way takings by TxDOT along the expanding IH-45 and US-59 roadway corridors in the Houston MSA.  Employed by Dominy, Ford & McPherson Appraisal Group, Jerrett attained his General Appraisal Certification and worked tirelessly on numerous real estate appraisal transactions and served as a Professional Witness related to Eminent Domain proceedings.  Focused attention to the investment and income producing property taking impacts, Jerrett was considered an authority in the industry of commercial valuation and multi-family investment analysis.

In late 1995, Jerrett took a position with The Money Store, which served a national audience in the residential real estate loan servicing/lending industry.  The Money Store was seeking a multi-family finance specialist to oversee their newly formed Capital Markets Commercial Lending Division.  Jerrett accepted the position of Southern Regional Director for the organization, wherein he helped develop a National Commercial Lending presence and Underwriting Strategy Guideline for the mid-level multi-family industry.  Over the four-year tenure with The Money Store, Jerrett was responsible for a staff and regional presence of nearly 60 people and the structured financing of over $600,000,000 in multi-family property.

Seeking some solace from the ‘hustle-and-bustle’ of the Houston marketplace and the forthcoming sale/merger of The Money Store with First Union Bank, Jerrett decided to move to the Texas Hill Country.  It was 1999 when he was able to locate a great place nestled in the hills of Pipe Creek to call home.

Upon making the move to Pipe Creek, Jerrett spent much of his time traveling the State between JVL Real Estate offices he had set-up in Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Boerne, Kerrville and San Angelo.  These offices catered to residential, commercial and farm & ranch real estate industry.  In 2006, he began closing offices due to a downward trend in the real estate industry as a whole and a significant attrition of Agents in the business.  As many as 82 Agents worked under the JVL Real Estate branding during the previous seven years.

With all of the direct real estate related activity, Jerrett continued to broaden his understanding and knowledge of the real estate industry and has now been a Real Estate Broker for almost 25-years.  During this period, he has served in numerous public and private positions.  He has been a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 1995, was a seated Board of Director with the Boerne YMCA from 2001 to 2005 and served on the Building Appropriations Committee and Finance Committee.  Since 2000, he has been a Life Member with the San Antonio Livestock Exposition.  Jerrett has also served as the President of the Bandera Country Board of REALTORS for three separate terms and continues to serve that office through 2016.

Jerrett continues to ‘wear-the-hat’ of a real estate Broker, Investor and Mentor, but devotes much of his time to family.  Living with his wife Megan, son Keaton and daughter Jalyn, he enjoys the wonderful expanses of Texas and travels often throughout the State on business and pleasure.  Jerrett’s family is always supportive of his volunteer efforts and they have always sought to be his sounding-board.  With school-aged children, Jerrett has involved himself in Little League, 4-H, FFA and school sponsored sporting events in the Bandera County area.

It is with strong convictions and tenured history that Jerrett seeks to broaden his knowledge and support his community.  He had long considered being in a public position and feels the time is right to integrate his knowledge and professional experience to help support the grass-roots foundation of private property rights and protect from government intervention.  Jerrett is seeking to run for County Commissioner – Precinct 1 – Bandera County and would certainly appreciate your support and vote in the 2016 Primary Election.
